ANGEL ARCE NAMED TO LEADERSHIP ROLES
Rep. Angel Arce has been named to serve as House vice chair of the Transportation Committee and Assistant Majority Leader during the 2015 Legislative Session. He will also serve on three additional committees, Finance, Revenue & Bonding, Housing and Judiciary. Speaker of the House Brendan Sharkey said, "As a leader within our caucus, Rep. Arce has the experience and ability to help improve the quality of life for everyone in Connecticut, while at the same time representing the interests of the families of Hartford. REP. ARCE CELEBRATES ROBERTO CLEMENTE
Rep. Angel Arce, along with various local organizations, students and others, will host the 3rd Annual Roberto Clemente Memorial at the Sports & Medical Sciences Academy, Wednesday, December 31, at 11:00 am. The event is a cultural celebration honoring the late Roberto Clemente, a beloved baseball player who died tragically in a plane crash on December 31, 1972 while traveling to deliver aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. ARCE PRESENTS CITATIONS TO LOCAL STUDENTS
Local students were recognized with state citations for participating in the Foodshare’s Annual Voices Against Hunger Art and Media Contest at the State Capitol. The program generated over 60 entries from schools and programs in greater Hartford, drawing attention to ending hunger. Rep. Arce was impressed and delighted to see the students’ enthusiasm and involvement in this serious issue. READ MORE

REP. ARCE PRESENTS RECOMMENDATIONS TO FOI TASK FORCE
After months of respectful discussions, Rep. Angel Arce presented a list of recommendations to members of the Task Force on Victim Privacy and the Public’s Right to Know in hopes to jump-start a productive conversation. The task force is expected to provide a final report to the legislature in January 2014, with recommendations regarding the balance between victim’s privacy under the Freedom of Information Act and the public's right to know.
