Rockville General Acquisition by HHC, Access Health CT Deadline Extension, Energy Assistance, and SNAP work rule changes

Hartford HealthCare has officially acquired Rockville General, the new Rockville Campus will continue to serve our local community. Access Health CT has extended the final deadline to enroll in a health or dental plan for 2026 to Saturday, January 31. The Generation Power CT (GPCT) Emergency Energy Assistance Program is accepting applications and more information to understand new SNAP work rules.

Access Health CT Extension, $70 Million to Protect Health Insurance, and Medical Debt Relief

We had a great discussion this past week on homeschooling, a productive Mock Legislative Session Day, and a call to pay student teachers in an effort to reverse the decline in teacher prep enrollment. Due to a system outage, Access Health CT has extended the deadline to sign up for health and dental coverage. The state will be using $70 Million from the emergency response fund to Protect Health Insurance, and Medical Debt relief is on the way for qualifying individuals.
