Republican Alternative Budget
Connecticut Republicans have suggested that Connecticut's budget deficit can be solved by spending cuts alone. However, their proposal would decimate programs and services that were designed to put our state on sound footing economically and help our residents get ahead.
Among other things, the Republican Proposal:
- Eliminates early childhood educational programs that help all our kids get off to a good start
- Reduces health care funding that provides critical health services for children and seniors
- Eliminates job training programs that give unemployed residents the skills they need to find good paying jobs and contribute to a productive economy
- Reduces economic development funding designed to promote new businesses and industries in our state
