I just testified at the Environment Committee's public hearing on a bill (HB 6123) that I co-introduced to help control the tree removal work that the state Department of Transportation (DOT) has been doing on our state highways.
A bill introduced by State Representative Mike D’Agostino would withhold ballot access in Connecticut for any candidate for President of the United States who does not release his or her federal and state tax returns for the previous five years.
Over the weekend I joined other area legislators, including Representative Robyn Porter and Representative Josh Elliott at a public forum hosted by the League of Women Voters of Hamden and North Haven. During the forum we discussed education funding, the state budget, preserving our tree canopy and teacher retirement benefits. I was a great discussion. I always enjoy hearing the thoughtful ideas of my constituents.
