Domestic Violence: Mission

House Speaker Christopher G. Donovan has convened a bipartisan legislative task force to formulate Connecticut's response to domestic violence. As more and more families are experiencing unexpected
job losses and financial pressures, we have seen an increased need not only for support services, but programs aimed at prevention and early intervention.

The task force is charged with reviewing budget implications related to domestic violence; identifying trends and research pertaining to social conditions, support services, healthy relationships, education, early intervention, court procedures and advocacy, and assembling a set of legislative recommendations on how best to prevent and address family violence and meet the needs of survivors.
