$200,000 FOR WEST HAVEN’S TRANSIT STUDY SCHEDULED
FOR NEXT FRIDAY’S BOND COMMISSION VOTE

State Representative Stephen Dargan is announcing a $200,000 grant-in-aid for a West Haven Transit-Oriented Development Study is expected to be approved at the next State Bond Commission’s meeting.

The state Bond Commission is scheduled to meet on Friday, August 31, 2012, in Room 1E, Legislative Office Building, at 10:30 a.m.

The funds are for West Haven’s request to update its Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) District Master Plan, review and evaluate the existing TOD District regulations, select a development approach and create a scale model of the TOD District.

“I am pleased the State Bond Commission is prepared to approve this $200,000 bond request for West Haven,” Rep. Dargan said. “The study and the work to be undertaken is important for the completion of the West Haven Train Station. I thank Governor Malloy for placing this item on the Bond Commission’s agenda for action.”

The City is prepared to go out to bid for a consultant once funding is secured.
