As we ring in the new year, there are some laws that go into effect on January 1, 2024 that were passed during the 2023 legislative session.

I wanted to take a moment to send my warmest wishes to you and your loved ones. May this special time of year bring you joy, peace, and happiness.

I'm pleased to share some exciting news regarding the progress we have made in Connecticut, thanks to our strong and fiscally responsible policies at the state level.

Last week, Connecticut transferred more than $1.3 billion to pay down its long-term pension debt.

On Monday, October 2nd, all Connecticut residents will be eligible to sign up for ArrayRx. This prescription drug discount card program provides up to 80% off certain prescriptions at nearly all pharmacies in the state.

Representative Mike Demicco along with fellow lawmakers and advocates, sought to bring attention to the health care disparities faced by individuals with disabilities at a press conference on Wednesday at the Legislative Office Building.

During the 2023 legislative session, we successfully passed several measures to enhance and support our skilled workforce and make our state more attractive to companies and new businesses. 

As the elderly population continues to grow, so does the unfortunate rise in scam attempts targeting this community. In response, I was proud to support the passage of PA 23-161, also known as, "An Act Concerning Financial Exploitation of Senior Citizens," to help shield our older residents.
