Donovan (D-Meriden) to serve as chairwoman of a legislative task force that will help formulate Connecticut’s response to challenges faced by victims of domestic violence that have been exacerbated by the recession.

GOVERNOR’S BUDGET CUTS HIT LOCAL STUDENTS State Rep. Mae Flexer (D- Killingly), House Majority Leader Denise Merrill (D-Mansfield/Storrs), library administrators and students blasted Governor M. Jodi Rell’s proposed budget as anti-education and anti-library at a press conference this week at Quinebaug Valley Community College (QVCC) in Danielson.  The Governor’s budget proposal includes cuts to financial aid, cuts to library services and delays the $83 million expansion project at H.
