October 3, 2023On October 4, FEMA & the FCC will run a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System around 2:20 p.m. Your cell phones, TVs, and radios will be included in this test.

One of the worst days in America's history saw some of the bravest acts in America's history. We forever honor the heroes and lives lost on 9/11.
Second Federal Agricultural Disaster Declaration Approved

Farmland Restoration Flood Response Grant Deadline Extended
August 25, 2023The Connecticut Department of Agriculture has extended the deadline for the Farmland Restoration Flood Response Grant until 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 31.
Public Hearing Scheduled for Proposed Rate Hikes for Health Plans in 2024
August 15, 2023The Connecticut Insurance Department will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 21, to receive input on proposed rate hikes for health plans in 2024.
Insurance companies have asked for average rate hikes of 12.4% on individual health plans and 14.8% on small group plans, which have been criticized as unaffordable for many families by state leaders including Attorney General William Tong.
The public hearing will take place on Monday, August 21, at 9 a.m. Testimony can be shared in person at the Legislative Office Building, 300 Capitol Avenue in Hartford, or over Zoom virtually. Connecticut Insurance Department officials and representatives from insurance companies are expected to attend.
