Today we mourn the loss of our own Mary Fritz, who died Saturday of cancer. Mary was one of our longest-serving legislators, having first served in 1982, then retaking her seat in 1986. She served her district of Wallingford and Cheshire ever since. Mary was a fierce advocate for her constituents, focusing on public education, early childhood education, crime, improving health care, and issues that affected seniors.
I have proposed and will continue to push for legislation that will enable Cheshire to be eligible for a 50% reimbursement for upgrading its water treatment plant as it relates to phosphorus reduction.
