During Tuesday's session, the Connecticut House of Representatives unanimously voted in favor of H.B. 5596, An Act Concerning Telehealth. If passed by the Senate and signed by the Governor, this bill would extend telehealth benefits for Connecticut residents for the next two years.

Governor Lamont announced that East Hartford will receive new federal funds to boost the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines in hard-to-reach communities.

The VA Connecticut Healthcare System has expanded COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to include anyone who served in the military (regardless of VA enrollment status), veteran spouses and caregivers. This week, there will be a clinic at the Newington ( 555 Willard Avenue, Bldg. 2E basement) and West Haven (950 Campbell Avenue, Bldg. 2, 1st floor) Campuses.

As part of American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, Access Health CT (AHCT) has opened a new Special Enrollment Period that will run from May 1, 2021 through August 15, 2021 allowing new and existing customers to receive even more help financial help at virtually every income level.

In an effort to make the vaccine more accessible to Connecticut residents, more than 50 providers will no longer require an appointment. Residents will be able to visit a location and receive a vaccine on the spot.

The Connecticut Department of Public Health's Vaccination Van will be in East Hartford this week. These mobile units provide a great opportunity to those in our community to get vaccinated.
