Farrell Corporation Receiving Expansion Funds from the State Bond Commission. Farrel received a $1,750,000 loan to assist with construction of a new facility for business expansion in Ansonia. The company will retain 79 jobs and create 5 new jobs. READ MORE

CONNECTICUT FARM BUREAU RECOGNIZES REP. GENTILE FOR COMMITMENT TO AGRICULTURE
The Connecticut Farm Bureau acknowledged Representative Gentile’s work on the animal care bill in her role as Chair of the Environment Committee. Among her efforts on that bill, she authored an editorial in the New Haven Register calling for sound, science-based reason in legislating animal care in Connecticut. READ MORE

Representative Gentile attended a news conference with a broad coalition of students and advocacy groups in support HB 6915, An Act Concerning A Student Loan Bill of Rights. If passed, Connecticut would be the first state in the country to adopt such a measure, establishing a student loan ombudsman to regulate student loan servicers and assist student borrowers and parents. REP. GENTILE WELCOMES NEW PRE-K SLOTS FOR ANSONIA
Ansonia will be able to offer pre-K to a class of 15 students thanks to Smart Start, a ten-year initiative Focusing on Pre-Kindergarten learning availability. Smart Start is intended to expand pre-K in public school settings and is funded through a combination of state bonding for capital improvements and funds from the Tobacco Settlement Fund for operations.
