TO OVERRIDE GOVERNOR’S VETOES Legislature Overrides 7 Vetoes

June 22, 2009 Derby Courthouse
Representative Linda Gentile was joined by legislators, local mayors, community leaders, attorneys and local business leaders at the Derby Courthouse to highlight the impacts of the Governors proposal to close the courthouse. The Derby Courthouse is one of six courthouses across the state the Governor wants to eliminate to close the state budget deficit. Speakers talked about the negative impact on local businesses should the courthouse close, and about the increased stress other courthouses would experience if Derby caseloads were shifted elsewhere.
