The House of Representatives passed the budget by an overwhelming majority from both sides of the aisle in concurrence with the Senate. While not perfect, it was a much-needed compromise that will allow use to move the state forward and end the stalemate that has held the state's finances hostage.

The Citizen's Election Program has a proven record of allowing candidates that would otherwise find it difficult to raise the necessary funds to successfully run for office.

After the state House of Representatives met Oct. 3 to consider overriding the veto of the GOP-backed budget, the Republicans refused to call the question for a vote. Now, it is time for us to work together and compromise with the governor and the Republicans to reach a bipartisan agreement on a final budget. To move Connecticut forward, we need to adopt a spending package that invests in our workforce, makes long-term structural changes, and provides municipalities with additional budget flexibility.

We had an excellent turnout in Hartford at our fundraiser for Hurricane relief for Puerto Rico - I look forward to the proceeds and items benefiting those in need. I thank Mega Radio Station and all of the volunteers that turned out for this successful event!
