Biography
Auden Grogins serves as the state representative of the General Assembly’s 129th District in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Now in her second term in the House of Representatives, she is Vice Chair of Planning and Development and serves on the Education and Judiciary Committees.
Auden was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and has lived in the Black Rock neighborhood since 1988. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in December, 1985 from the State University of New York at F.I.T. and received her Juris Doctor Degree in May, 1989 from the University of Bridgeport Law School, now known as Quinnipiac Law School.
Auden Grogins was admitted to the Connecticut Bar in December, 1989 and the United States District Court of Connecticut in March, 1990. Auden has practiced civil and criminal litigation in both the state and federal courts for more than 19 years.
She was first elected to the Bridgeport City Council in November, 1991 and served in this capacity continuously from November, 1991 to November, 2003. In 2003, Auden was elected to the Bridgeport Board of Education and served on the Board from December, 2003 to December, 2004. Auden was elected as president of the Board in November, 2005 and served as president until the end of her term, November 2007.
