The House passed a budget which is responsible, stable, and funds the Rainy Day Fund at historic levels.
Combating invasive species is a big issue for Candlewood Lake – and I am proud to have worked with my colleagues and the Environment Committee this session to get a bill passed that would help New Fairfield and adjacent towns with controlling such species as zebra mussel and others.
Honored to join my colleague, Rep. Michel in welcoming Captain Paul Watson, world-renowned environmental activist, co-Founder of Greenpeace, Founder, President and Executive Director of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, at the State Capitol, to discuss the role of oceans as climate regulators and what humans must change to restore balance to destabilized ecosystems.
The best thing about being a state representative is helping the people of my home town of New Fairfield and my long history growing up here has made doing my job easier. A major issue facing New Fairfield, and one that we have heard more about in recent weeks, is the need for new schools.
