I want to thank the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters for naming me a 2015 Legislative Champion for my environmental advocacy this year. It is truly an honor to have my efforts recognized.
Rep. Haddad held a press conference outside Windham Hospital with Rep. Susan Johnson, Sen. Mae Flexer, and hospital employees protesting Hartford Healthcare’s proposed service and position cuts. This announcement was made despite the news that Windham Hospital will receive an additional $2.8 million in state aid in the coming years.
UConn students and Women’s Basketball Coach Geno Auriemma came to the State Capitol asking that the legislature continue to adequately fund the university. Rep. Haddad spoke in support of UConn’s fantastic academic programs, and its bright future.
Rep. Haddad and several college students who came to the Legislative Office Building to testify on behalf of SB 636. The bill would require that affirmative consent standards be in place at all Connecticut colleges, public and private.
Rep. Haddad was glad to talk with 8th graders from Mansfield Middleschool inside the House Chamber in the State Capitol Building.
AARP's Nora Duncan presented the award as recognition for Haddad's advocacy to attract social entrepreneurs and social investors to Connecticut that help address a variety of social concerns through business innovation.
