Kirsten Littell, a 5th grade student from Tolland Intermediate School, won Honorable Mention in the Secretary of the State's 16th Annual Essay Contest. More than 1,000 5th graders from around Connecticut submitted essays on "What Person in Connecticut History Do You Admire and Why?" Kirsten, one of 25 students honored March 4 at a State Capitol ceremony, is joined here by State Representative Bryan Hurlburt of Tolland and Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz.
