We will discuss the importance of developing children's literacy skills, and how that will positively impact their future. March 14, 2024Great news! The Aging Committee approved HB 5001, an omnibus bill I am proud to be working on as Deputy Majority Caucus Chair. HB 5001 will provide further support to our seniors. This bill will allow more seniors to age in place, increase protections in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and improve training for caregivers.

February 23, 2024Earlier this month, Senate Majority Leader Duff and I hosted a senior issues listening session at Kingsway Senior Housing in Norwalk. We touched upon various issues, including how to avoid scams, the need for affordable housing options for seniors with support to navigate state agencies and benefits, and the new ArrayRx program for prescription drug savings, among other topics.

February 16, 2024During Wednesday's session, we approved $17 million in additional cold weather heating assistance funds – many residents and families who receive assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) or Operation Fuel will have access to funds to ensure they can heat their homes through the cold weather season.
