NEWINGTON RECEIVES FLOOD CONTROL, HOUSING IMPROVEMENT GRANTS
Newington continues to be a priority in Hartford with $2.4 million to address housing that has gone into disrepair and that affects the quality of life for all. Flooding has been a problem for far too long and, with $1.5 million in funding, measures will be implemented to help mitigate the ongoing damage that flooding can cause. The State Bond Commission approved a loan of $550,000 to Veterans Inc. for rehabilitation of a building on Arch Street in New Britain which will be used to create 17 units of rental housing for homeless veterans. READ MORE
