The Department of Economic & Community Development awarded a $8,000 grant to Cuantro Puntos and a $5,144 grant to the New Britain Youth Theatre. These two organizations play a vital role in promoting the arts in the community and enriching each citizen’s life.
Hospital for Special Care (HSC) has received a $2.5 million capital grant-in-aid to cover the second phase of the implementation of an electronic medical records (EMR) system from Governor Malloy and the State Bond Commission.
Newington continues to be a priority in Hartford with $2.4 million to address housing that has gone into disrepair and that affects the quality of life for all. Flooding has been a problem for far too long and, with $1.5 million in funding, measures will be implemented to help mitigate the ongoing damage that flooding can cause. I thank Governor Malloy for his support of these much needed funds.
Our students deserve a safe and secure learning environment if they are to have the best chance to succeed. This funding is a part of our continuous effort to make sure our school buildings are in a state of sound repair and I thank Governor Malloy for prioritizing this effort across the state.
