Newington continues to be a priority in Hartford with $2.4 million to address housing that has gone into disrepair and that affects the quality of life for all. Flooding has been a problem for far too long and, with $1.5 million in funding, measures will be implemented to help mitigate the ongoing damage that flooding can cause. I thank Governor Malloy for his support of these much needed funds.
Our students deserve a safe and secure learning environment if they are to have the best chance to succeed. This funding is a part of our continuous effort to make sure our school buildings are in a state of sound repair and I thank Governor Malloy for prioritizing this effort across the state.
New Britain will receive a $200,000 grant for detailed site planning and redevelopment, environmental analyses, and identification of a Master Developer for potential Transit Oriented Development sites around the East Main Street CTfastrak station
