Biography

Representative Robert Megna was born and raised in New Jersey. He graduated from Bergen Community College in New Jersey with an Associate’s Degree and then went on to attend Oregon State University to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration with a minor in environmental science.

As he worked on various environmental laws as an advocate for a clean environment, he became interested in running for state representative. One major determining factor in his decision to run was a vote taken by his then state representative against a beneficial environmental law he was proposing along with other advocates.

Representative Megna was elected in 1999 to represent the 97th District in New Haven and has served for five consecutive terms. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Insurance & Real Estate COmmittee and as
a member of the Energy and Technology Committee and the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee.

Representative Megna is a real estate investor and owns Robert Megna & Associates, a public adjusting firm, representing people and businesses with their insurance needs.
