DRY WELL LEAVES VOLUNTOWN COUPLE WITHOUT WATER, HEAT
The well has run dry at the Wilson Road home of Voluntown residents Leo and Reet Goercke, who are living on borrowed water as well as garbage cans filled with the remnants of heavy rains. The situation was caused by the partial draining of Glasgo Pond in September as the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection prepared for a $3 million, 15-month dam repair project slated to commence in February.
