Linda Orange

Biography

Linda A. Orange was elected to the Legislature in November 1996 to represent the 48th Assembly District, which includes the towns of Colchester and East Haddam. Orange is a Deputy Speaker and serves on the Appropriations, Public Safety, Human Services and Legislative Management committees.

Born in Hartford, Linda grew up in Marlborough. She has lived in Colchester for more than 30 years.

Linda was trained in respiratory therapy in a program at Hartford Hospital. She worked for the General Assembly as a legislative assistant from 1991-95, and was appointed clerk of the Public Health Committee in the 1993 legislative session.

Linda served as a member and chairman of the Colchester Board of Assessment Appeals from 1992-95. She served on the Colchester Police Commission from 1993-96. She has been a member of the Colchester Democratic Town Committee since 1989.  Rep. Orange is also a member of the Colchester Democratic Women’s Club, a member of the East Haddam Historical Society, an associate member of the Connecticut National Guard, a member of the Backus Hospital Board of Corporators, a Major in the Connecticut Civil Air Patrol and an Honorary Member of the Colchester Hayward Volunteer Fire Department.
