Biography
Hector Robles was born and raised in Hartford, CT, where he attended the Hartford Public School System. He graduated from Bulkeley High School in 1991.
An accomplished community activist, he has contributed to several local and state wide initiatives and has served in various capacities citywide. He was honored by both the City of Hartford and the Town of Wethersfield when he was elected to represent them at the Connecticut Democratic State Central Committee, where he is serving his second term.
In 1992, Hector was the youngest person elected to the 4th District Town Committee. He was elected to the 6th District Town Committee in 2006, and was re-elected in 2008. He is the first Puerto Rican to have been elected state representative of the 6th District. Hector was sworn in on January 7, 2009, and was elected as Vice Chairman of the Black and Puerto Rican Caucus.
Hector is a member of the Civil Air Patrol, where he mentors city youths on aviation and aerospace, and provides flying lessons and search and rescue operations. He is an accomplished pilot, licensed by the FAA, and has the ratings of Private Pilot, IFR rating and currently working on his commercial and flight instructor rating. For the past fifteen years, Hector has been protecting the citizens of Hartford as a police officer with the Hartford Police Department, in the capacity of community service officer, and patrols the same neighborhood which he is now representing at the state capitol.
Hector is married to Ana, and they have a four year old daughter, Madelyn, and two older teenagers Noel and Jessica.
