Jason Rojas

Biography

Jason Rojas is proud to serve the 9th District which is comprised of parts of East Hartford, Manchester and Glastonbury. The district covers much of southeastern East Hartford (Hills Street, Oak Street, Silver Lane, Forbes Street), South Manchester (Keeney and Martin Schools) and North Glastonbury (Addison/Griswold, Buckingham, Bell Street). Representative Rojas serves as Vice Chairman of the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee as well as the Planning and Development and Education Committees.

A lifelong resident of East Hartford Jason attended East Hartford Public Schools and was the first in his family to graduate from college earning a History Degree from the University of Connecticut. Jason is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Public Policy at Trinity College. Jason also serves at the Director of Community Relations at Trinity College and serves on the Board of Directors of three non-profit organizations whose mission’s focus on the development of affordable housing and economic development in Hartford’s Frog Hollow neighborhood. Jason is a former member of the East Hartford Town Council and Board of Education as well as the New England Association of Schools & Colleges Commission on Public Secondary Schools.

Jason’s policy interests include government finance and tax policy, inter-municipal cooperation and education. Jason puts a particular emphasis on constituent service and encourages taxpayers to contact him with concerns, questions and ideas about how to move our district, communities and state forward. Jason is married to his high school sweetheart Sarah Gaudreau of East Hartford and they have three daughters, Addison, Stella and Celia and a cat named Noodles. They bought their first home on Oak Street in East Hartford.
