This was an excellent opportunity to learn, from a policy perspective, actions that we can take as elected officials to promote social stability after disasters. Although it’s easy to get complacent during long periods of stability, we cannot allow ourselves to become increasingly vulnerable.
The increasing cost of special education has placed a strain on many school budgets, especially Bridgeport’s. We are confident that a regional special education school can improve education outcomes for many students.
I gave the Cesar Batalla School Talented and Gifted program for 7th and 8th grade students a tour of the Capitol today. Along the way we ran into U.S. Senator Blumenthal who was kind enough to address the children and join us for a photo. My 12 year old daughter Chelsie was part of the group.
