Now that Connecticut is leading as one of the states with the lowest coronavirus rates in nation, we must keep up the pace by wearing our facial coverings, maintaining social distancing and following all the public safety guidelines that our leaders are recommending.

The Department of Motor Vehicles is up and rolling again, though on a limited, appointment-only basis following a plan it developed for reopening this week.

Memorial Day is a time for us to remember and honor all those who have died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. 'Thank you' to all our veterans for their devoted service in the defense of our great nation.

Today is National Nurses Day and the beginning of Nurses Week, May 6^th – 12^th and I want to make sure to thank them for their selfless commitment! Nurses have always been on the frontlines of care and an integral part of a healthcare system that would quickly fall apart and fail without them. This is especially relevant now as the country deals with the challenges of a pandemic that has brought them to the national spotlight.

We are celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week and today is Teacher Appreciation Day.
