Biography
State Representative Peggy Sayers was first elected to the Connecticut General Assembly’s 60th House District (Windsor, Windsor Locks) in 1999. She has lived in Windsor Locks for the past 50 years.
Rep. Sayers currently serves as House Deputy Majority Leader and is a member of the Legislature’s Appropriations, Higher Education and Transportation committees.
Her extensive community work includes serving as a Justice of the Peace and as a former member of the Windsor Locks Planning & Zoning Commission and past chair of the Committee on the Needs of Aging. She continues as a member of the Windsor Locks Lions Club, Democratic Leadership Council and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.
A registered nurse by profession, Peggy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services from New Hampshire College and a Masters of Science in Healthcare Management from the Hartford Graduate Center. Her certifications include radiological emergency management, gerontological nursing and as an Investigator/Inspector by the Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation.
Peggy and her husband Patrick reside in Windsor Locks on Spring St. They have 6 children and 12 grandchildren.
