Rep. McMahon and Rep. Sayers join Team Paragon at the For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) organization at the 2008 FIRST Robotics Competition, Connecticut Regional. FIRST was founded in 1989 by inventor Dean Kamen to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology.

Rep. Sayers organized a forum featuring first responder agencies including police, fire, and emergency medical services with the goal of expanding the scope of emergency response to include such things as a release of radioactive material, an influenza pandemic, and airline passengers arriving in Connecticut with dangerous, contagious conditions.

State Rep. Peggy Sayers (D-Windsor) addressed members of Hadassah during a recent visit to the Legislative Office Building. Rep. Sayers spoke in support of the Stem Cell Research legislation before the General Assembly. She is House Chair of the Public Health Committee. Hadassah, The Women's Zionist Organazation of America, Inc., organized a day-long series of speakers and presentations in support of stem cell research.
