The impact on federal employees from the prolonged government shutdown is increasingly affecting the livelihood of over 1,500 Connecticut residents and their families.  Each additional day they work for no pay, they fall further behind on bill payments.  There is no indication when paychecks will resume, but I am pleased Connecticut is stepping up to help with Governor Ned Lamont's announcement to partner with Webster Bank to provide interest-free loans for these workers.

Proud to be Chairwoman of the Commerce Committee

Today, we met for our first Commerce Committee meeting of the 2019 Legislative Session. I'm incredibly honored to serve as chairwoman of this influential committee.

This session, I'm focused on working to further support business growth and job creation. We must be focused on reducing our state's debt to get our fiscal house in order. During this session we will tackle many challenging issues, I'm thrilled to roll up my sleeves and get to work.

Bipartisan Women's Caucus 2019 Kick-Off!

Today, the Bipartisan Women's Caucus met for our first organizational meeting of the 2019 Legislative Session. During the meeting, we named Representative Dorinda Borer to co-chair the caucus, representing the Democratic side alongside Representative Rebimbas, who will co-chair the caucus representing the Republican side.
