Addressing Student Loan Debt

I was proud to support the first in the nation CT Student Loan Bill of Rights, which aims to ease student loan debt and provide more resources to help students and families. As part of this initiative, the Connecticut Higher Education Supplemental Loan Authority (CHESLA) recently started offering borrowers the chance to refinance their school debt with a new program entitled Refi CT.

Women in abusive relationships are 5 times more likely to be killed if their abuser has access to a firearm. Connecticut is taking great strides in protecting women and children from domestic violence by requiring a person to surrender firearms after being served with a temporary restraining order.
