STUDENT LOAN BILL OF RIGHTS
I joined with State Representatives Matt Lesser, Roberta Willis, House Leadership as well as many legislators and advocates in support of HB 6915, An Act Concerning A Student Loan Bill of Rights. The bill would establish a student loan ombudsman to regulate student loan servicers and assist students, graduates, and parents navigate the student loan process. 64 percent of graduates in Connecticut have student loan debt, graduating with an average debt of $30,191.
