Joe Taborsak

Biography

Joe Taborsak is a third-term representative serving Connecticut's 109th district in Danbury - a seat that was once held by his own mother, Lynn. Joe's parents are lifelong public servants and activists who Joe credits with inspiring him to get personally involved by running for office.

Joe serves on the Judiciary and Public Health Committees, and is Co-chair of the General Law Committee.

He was born and raised in Danbury and graduated from Danbury High School in 1993. He went on to Northeastern University in Boston where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice. While in Boston, Joe was employed by the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance ("MOVA") under the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office. At MOVA, Joe worked to improve state services for victims of crime.

After graduating from Northeastern, Joe went on to Pace University School of Law, where he earned a law degree and a certificate in Health Law and Policy. During his time at Pace, Joe interned with the John Jay Legal Clinic where he provided pro bono legal services to disabled persons struggling with the complexities of disability and social security law.

While Joe is not working on legislation in Hartford, he practices law with the established Danbury law firm of Riefberg, Smart, Donohue & NeJame, P.C.

Joe is married to his wife Kelley and they have a daughter named Jasmine.
