REP. URBAN TO CHAIR LEGISLATIVE FORUM
ON TOXIC CHEMICALS IN CONSUMER PRODUCTS
State Representative Diana Urban will chair a legislative forum on Toxic Chemicals in Consumer Products sponsored by the Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Connecticut.
The forum will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in Room 1C at the Legislative Office Building at 10:00 a.m.
The Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Connecticut is comprised of citizens, health professionals, workers, environmental justice groups, educators and others seeking preventive action on toxic hazards and to correct the fundamental flaws in government policies that allow harm to health and environment.
“I am enormously concerned about the impact of toxic chemicals on our children and families. We are trying to get health care costs under control and chemical toxicity should be a prime focus,” Rep. Urban said. “Many of the chemicals that our children and families are exposed to have never been tested by the EPA for their long term impacts on health. I am thrilled to be to be working with the Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Connecticut on important policy initiatives and look forward to hearing from a variety of experts.”

The goals of The Coalition for a Safe and Health Connecticut include protecting health and the environment, support a healthy state economy and enhance security and public safety.
Rep. Urban is House Chair of the Select Committee on Children, serves on the Appropriations, Environment and Program Review and Investigations Committees and is Chair of the Appropriations Sub-Committee on Results Based Accountability.
