PTSD Services For First Responders

This legislation is of historic proportions relative to addressing the mental health needs of our first responders. I have worked on this measure for at least eight years and, although I wish it was more inclusive, it is at least the first positive step forward. For far too long the status quo for those that work in a capacity that exposes them to psychologically traumatic scenes has been to keep silent about their troubling experiences. This bill will help not only them, but their families as well.
