Energy Assistance:
Energy Assistance Program - is a state and federally funded program which assists families in the New Haven region with fuel expenses. Applications are processed for town residents of New Haven, Hamden, West Haven, East Haven, and North Haven. This program is designed to provide Energy Assistance to individuals and families who meet the federal poverty guidelines with their primary source of heat. The program is accessible through intake sites scattered throughout New Haven and the inner ring of suburbs, and can also be accessed through New Haven Senior Cafes.

Weatherization:
The Weatherization Assistance Program increases the energy efficiency of dwellings occupied by low-income residence, thereby reducing their energy costs, while safeguarding their Health and Safety.

Financial Assistance Programs: Yale New Haven Hospital:
Yale-New Haven Hospital will provide services for free or at a discounted rate to uninsured or underinsured patients who cannot afford to pay for medical care. Financial counseling is available to help determine your eligibility for these and other local, state or federal assistance programs.

HUSKY: Health Care for Uninsured Kids:
The HUSKY Plan offers a full health insurance package for children and teenagers up to age 19, regardless of family income. HUSKY pays for doctor visits, prescriptions, vision and dental care, and much more. HUSKY Plus offers additional services for children with special physical health care needs, while mental health and substance abuse treatment services are available through the Connecticut Behavioral Health Partnership.
