A positive start to the week!

On Friday, I reached out to the Connecticut Department of Transportation about a dip in the road on Route 53 (Grassy Plain Street), right at the entrance to the plaza that’s home to Dunkin’, Spice, and House of Yoshida.

By today, it was fixed. That’s the kind of quick action we love to see.

Big win for patients in Connecticut! Governor Lamont just signed Senate Bill 10, and I’m proud to have worked on it as a member of the Insurance Committee.

Several new laws that were passed during the 2025 legislative session went into effect earlier this week, on Tuesday, July 1. Please see below to read about some of them!

This session, we made real progress for mobile home residents, but the work isn’t done yet.

Earlier this year, I introduced a bill with Senator Julie Kushner (HB 5111) after hearing directly from families at Shady Acres Mobile Home Park in Danbury. They told me about rising lot rents, surprise fees, and a lack of transparency from park owners.

I’m proud to share that Bethel is set to receive more than $1.1 million in additional state aid under the newly passed FY 2026–2027 budget marking a long-overdue correction to how our town has been funded.

Today, I voted in favor of Senate Bill 4, a bipartisan energy affordability bill aimed at addressing the long-standing frustration over Connecticut’s high electric rates.

I’m proud to share that I secured $150,000 in the newly passed state budget to support two Bethel-based youth organizations doing critical work in our community.

As Co-Chair of the Legislature’s LGBTQ+ Caucus, I was proud to stand with state leaders today to mark the beginning of Pride Month and to make it clear that Connecticut isn’t backing down when it comes to protecting LGBTQ+ rights.
