Meriden Receives $9.7 Million For City Projects

April 13, 2018

The Meriden delegation is working together to make sure we keep Meriden on the radar and I am pleased these items were approved by the Bond Commission.

Funds totaling $6 million are earmarked for providing a loan to 11 Crown Street Associates, LLC to assist with development of rental housing in Meriden. The project consists of 81 new units of rental housing with 64 income-restricted affordable units. The loan will be provided at zero percent interest for a term not to exceed thirty-five years, with payments from available cash flow.

The commission also approved a $3.5 million grant-in-aid to the City of Meriden to assist with the next phase of the Harbor Brook Flood Control Project; $140,000 for a cooling tower replacement for the Meriden Superior Court building and $55,000 earmarked for work at H.C. Wilcox Technical High School.
