I am humbled and honored to receive recognition from the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence, an organization that continuously strives to end domestic violence and protect its victims. Everyone deserves to feel safe and protected in a relationship and I am proud to have championed this legislative session a bill which passed that orders those who have been issued a temporary restraining order to surrender their firearms or ammunition during the days leading up to their hearing. This common sense law will certainly go a long way in protecting victims of domestic violence, which will ultimately save lives. Indeed, a victory for us all!
