New Britain Receives Hospital Grant

June 14, 2016

Hospital for Special Care (HSC) has received a $2.5 million capital grant-in-aid to cover the second phase of the implementation of an electronic medical records (EMR) system from Governor Malloy and the State Bond Commission. This second and final phase of the EMR project was unanimously approved at the May 27, 2016, Bond Commission meeting and it will include rolling out clinical documentation across all of HSC’s inpatient units, including its recently-opened autism inpatient unit. The implementation encompasses nursing, therapy and physician documentation as well as a new pharmacy ordering system to ensure medication compliance.

Hospital for Special Care is a national leader in long term rehabilitative care and they bring positive exposure to New Britain for their work. I’m happy to have been able to help this important institution.
