Courthouse Bonding Approved
September 30, 2016I am proud to announce that the state approved a grant-in-aid to the city of Torrington for storm drainage improvements in the area of the new Litchfield Judicial Courthouse.
The State Bonding Commission approved a total amount of $800,000 for this project on Friday, September 30, 2016.
The 800k is vitally important to the surrounding community. These funds will be used to prevent a financial burden on the town and additionally ensures the commitment previously made by the state.
The 174,000 square foot courthouse is located on Field Street in Torrington and is expected to open in January 2017.
