Legislation To Make Schools Safer

May 2, 2016

Legislation passed in the House on Saturday calls on boards of education to share with other boards any findings of sexual misconduct or abuse by employees.;

The legislation also increases the penalties for making a threat to a preschool, K-12 school or an institution of higher education. It's a zero tolerance policy that sends a message to anyone who might intend to issue a threat that could result in the evacuation of a school building with intent to cause fear or harm.
