Berger Appointed to Safety & Security Commission

January 17, 2018

I am pleased to announce that he has been appointed to the Public Safety and Security Committee by Speaker of the House Joe Aresimowicz (D-Berlin/Southington).

Ensuring that our communities are safe has always been a priority for me. As a retired Waterbury police officer who served on the force for 20 years, I am honored to serve on the Public Safety and Security Committee. I am grateful for Speaker Aresimowicz's confidence in my experience and look forward to working with my colleagues in a bipartisan manner to address legislation concerning public safety and homeland security, along with the potential gaming expansion.

The Public Safety and Security Committee focuses its work on civil preparedness, state police, the state-wide organized crime investigative task force, municipal police training, fire marshals, the fire safety code, the state building code, and legalized gambling.
