University Commons Park View Development

February 16, 2018

The State Bond Commission approved funds for site, streetscape and sewer improvements that will allow the Park View development to move forward. The first phase of the University Commons development – The Atwood – added more than 90,000 square feet of residential and commercial space in a prime location, improving the quality of life for people living and working in the area. Park View will add another 55,000 square feet of retail and residential space.

“Reps. DiMassa and Borer have worked tirelessly for their communities and securing this funding is a prime example of that,” said Speaker of the House Joe Aresimowicz (D-Berlin/Southington). “The residents of West Haven are fortunate to have such strong voices advocating on their behalf in Hartford and I look forward to seeing the completion of the University Commons Park View development.”

“I am grateful to the entire West Haven legislative delegation – Representatives Dorinda Borer (D-West Haven) and Charles Ferraro (R-West Haven/Milford/Orange), and Senators Gary Winfield (D-West Haven/New Haven) and Gayle Slossberg (D-West Haven/Milford/Orange/Woodbridge) – for their efforts in supporting this project,” said DiMassa. “It was a true team effort that helped secure these funds and I thank Governor Malloy and all members of the Bond Commission for recognizing the significance of the University Commons development.”

“I am pleased funding for this critical project was prioritized,” Rep. Borer said. “The positive impact of this investment will be felt throughout the city and I am happy to have helped make it happen.”
