The Connecticut Fund for the Environment has informed us that UI and Eversource have reduced the price of the audits. They will seal air leaks, upgrade lighting, install water-saving devices, and more.

The average home will save $200 or more on their annual energy bills.

This past session, we addressed some of our energy challenges with legislation that extended renewable energy programs, including traditional net metering and the Green Bank’s renewable solar investment program. We also expanded a virtual net metering cap which will reduce energy costs for municipalities.

In addition, the Department of Transportation will put together an inventory on which lands are suitable for Class I energy resources that would allow for solar energy adjacent to state highways. The measure also promotes the construction of high performance green state buildings that have reduced emissions and conservative water resource management. We hope to create new and viable career opportunities, benefit the environment, and help protect our planet for generations to come.
