State Lottery Informational Hearing

February 27, 2018

CT LOTTERY MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE

You may recall a problem with the CT Lottery Super Draw game. Ticket sales are limited – and 100,000 of the 214,601 tickets sold were inadvertently excluded from the January 1st drawing. As a result, there was a do-over drawing on January 16th with the mistake causing a $1 million loss to the state.

The legislature’s Public Safety & Security Committee, of which I am a member, has cognizance over the Lottery. At an informational hearing on February 22nd, the Committee asked Lottery officials to explain what happened.
