On August 1, a new law – one that phases out plastic bags – took effect, significantly helping to protect our environment. I was proud to co-sponsor and vote for the ban on plastic bags. Many other developed nations – and a few Connecticut towns – have already banned them, and a few days our statewide efforts to curb the use of single-use plastic bags became a reality!
