I am honored to serve you in the Connecticut General Assembly and be your voice in Hartford. As Chair of the Speaker's Task Force on Domestic Violence, I am working on strengthening Connecticut's response to challenges faced by victims of domestic violence that have been exacerbated by the recession. Last year the Task Force was responsible for introducing and leading passage of reforms that led to the most sweeping changes to the state's domestic violence statutes in almost 25 years.
In addition to leading the Task Force on Domestic Violence, I chair the Internship Committee and serve on the Human Services, Judiciary, and Planning & Development committees. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have concerns involving these committees, current legislation or any other matter.
Thank you again for your interest. The bedrock of a strong democracy is an active citizenry, and I truly appreciate your taking the time to be informed and make your voice heard.
