April 23, 2018

Rep. Dan Fox has been asked by Speaker of the House Joe Aresimowicz to serve on the Connecticut Elections Cyber Security Task Force, created to evaluate and study strategies for safeguarding the state’s electoral system.

“Voting is the foundation of our democracy, and ensuring our electoral system’s integrity is paramount,” Speaker Aresimowicz said. “Representative Fox, as House chairman of the legislature’s Government Administration and Elections Committee, has the expertise and background necessary to make a valuable contribution to this important task force.”

“I am honored to give my time and energy to a cause that is fundamental to our democratic systems – protecting the security and fairness of our elections,” Fox said. “To be effective we all have to work together for the good of our democracy.”

The mission of the task force, created by Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, is to protect Connecticut’s elections process from interference emanating from the cyber domain by developing a coordinated response and plan of action for this year’s election and beyond.
