Informative Public Open House on the Parking Garage and Stamford Transportation Center

April 3, 2019

The Connecticut Department of Transportation will hold a Public Open House for the proposed Stamford Transportation Center parking garage project on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Stamford Transportation Center, Lower Level Meeting Room, 30 South State Street in Stamford.

Commuters, station patrons, and other interested parties are invited to learn more about the project, see what it will look like, ask questions and provide their input and insights.

The parking garage is proposed to be built on South State Street in Stamford to replace the aging commuter parking on Station Place. The new proposed garage will provide 960 commuter parking spaces, representing an increase of approximately 130 state-owned spaces at the STC.

Construction for the proposed parking garage is anticipated to begin in 2019. Commuters will be able to continue parking in the old garage while the new structure is constructed.

The Public Open House is being held to afford a full opportunity for the public’s participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have as the proposed project progresses into the Preliminary Design Phase.
